Alarm System Minimum Testing


SSNW wants to make sure that systems are tested to a high standard so that they will deliver the protection required by code and the customer. This not only helps protect the customer and their property, but it also helps to mitigate liability for SSNW by making sure that systems function when we service them. 


New Installs & Panel Replacement with no ITM inspection 

  • 100% Test 
  • Final Program sent to SSNW System Support 
  • System Support Audits program vs. info in NMC to make sure all zones are entered.


Panel Replacement and an ITM inspection customer 

  • Alarm, Trouble, and Restore per protection loop and NAC 
  • All Water-flows 
  • Sample Pull 
  • Sample Smoke 
  • Verify 24-hour timer test 
  • Final Program sent to SSNW System Support 

Transitions: 

Fire:

  • Alarm, Trouble, and Restore per protection loop and NAC 
  • All Water-flows 
  • Sample Pull 
  • Sample Smoke 
  • Verify 24-hour timer test 
  • Final Program sent to SSNW System Support 
     

Burg:

  • Trouble and Restore per hardwired zone at the panel 
  • All Environmental Monitoring (Refrigerator, Hi/Lo Temp, Flood, etc.) 
  • Sample Motion, Door, Window, Glass break, and Smoke 
  • Verify weekly timer test.

Communication Change: 

  • Sample Alarm, Trouble, and Supervisory
  • Radio Specific Trouble and Supervision Zones
  • For Fire Radio, confirm that the panel is supervising the radio or that the radio has a sounder installed for supervision.

System Modifications:

  • System Additions -100% Test of added devices and changes 
  • Modifying existing components - (Moving old equipment, adding more devices to the existing parts of the system.) Before we make changes, test to confirm the function and understanding of involved system components. After installing,  100% test of the modification to confirm function.
